Debt collection in The Netherlands and world-wide

We specialize in the collection of debts that are hard to collect at home and abroad. Thanks to our efficient and consistent approach we score 94.2% of the cases in the Netherlands.

In 85.6% of these also interest and office costs are fully or largely recovered from the debtor. Bankruptcies are left out of these percentages.

Abroad the situation varies and strongly depends on the country where the debtor lives, the age and nature of the claim. In Scandinavia, Belgium, Germany and the UK, the score percentage is the same as that of the Netherlands.

In the Mediterranean countries, the Middle and Far East and the US, etc. the percentage is lower and differs per area.

We use a strict, consistent and result-aimed approach, via our Staged collection plan.

The stages step by step are:

Background information of the client, debtor and claims and continually putting the debtor under pressure.

  • First we study your General Conditions.
  • Then we go through the dossier of the debtor and also look at his payment behaviour in previous transactions.
  • We request information from the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipal Basic Administration. If necessary the creditworthiness of the debtor is checked.
  • After receipt of your collection instruction we send a first summons to the debtor within 24 hours.
  • If your debtor doesn?t respond to this, a second summons follows within 10 days.
  • Now there are two possibilities:
    1. the debtor responds to the summons and pays, or a payment schedule is arranged (which we check strictly)
    2. the debtor doesn?t respond. Then we approach him  by telephone every day, until we get to speak to him in order to make an arrangement.

If the debtor still fails to respond or remains inaccessible by telephone, we visit him and/or request payment in sharp terms by fax and registered letter.

Depending on the results of the previous steps, we can increase the pressure on the debtor by threatening him with legal action, including, as a last resort, attachment and filing for bankruptcy.

Summoning twice is necessary to get the extrajudicial costs awarded in legal proceedings. It seems funny, but you have to prove that you have made sufficient efforts to collect your money.
